Hey, friends! I’m about ready to kick off my junior year of college at the University of Missouri, and I am so excited about it! But before I head back, there are some things I need to do. Since starting the school year off on the right note is vital, I’m here today to share some of my favorite tips to jumpstart your year without a hitch!
1. Create a new Spotify playlist.
With a new school year in the near future, create a new playlist to listen to while you’re getting ready for a night out, walking to class, or studying for exams. It really helps me to have some fun, fresh anthems to jam to that can become the soundtrack to the school year! Check out what I’ll be listening to this school year HERE for my fall semester playlist.
2. Buy a new planner.
This one is kind of a given, but it is just so much fun! Staying organized is super important to me, so this is one of my favorite things to do! The last two years, I’ve had Lily Pulitzer planners that have been amazing, but I was ready for a change. This year, I’m trying out a super cute one this school year from Bando!
3. Get a workout schedule + find a buddy.
There’s nothing worse than going to the gym alone. Not only is it just not as fun alone, but you also have no one to keep you accountable. Now is the perfect time to plan out when you’ll go to the gym during the semester and also find someone to go with you. Last weekend, my friend and I compared semester schedules and found the perfect slot to fit yoga in!
4. Purge your closet.
This whole week, I’ve been going through my closet, finding lots of things that I don’t want anymore or don’t wear. I have three piles currently: “What to Keep”, “What to Sell to Plato’s Closet”, and “What to Donate”. It’s a great thing to get all the excess out of your life. There’s absolutely no need to hang on to all the things that have just been taking up space in your closet since your sophomore year of high school. This tip doesn’t only just apply to your closet ~ clean out shelves, drawers, containers, bathroom supplies and any other nook and cranny you can find where you could simplify a bit. After cleaning out everything, you’ll feel not only feel better, but you will have a better idea about what clothes and accessories you actually want to bring back to school with you for the semester!
5. Plan Snacks + Meals.
One important element for me of college is eating healthy. Although it takes a bit of effort, this is something that helps me feel and look my best all year long. It can sometimes be hard, though, to eat healthy when you are crunched for time during the semester. Make a Pinterest board of easy meals and snacks to make yourself that are also good for you!
Hopefully, these tips will get you all ready to head back to the semester fully prepared and feeling the absolute best version of yourself. It’s so vital to me that I head back to college feeling confident and inspired. With these tips, I’d encourage you to start in advance to make this semester the best one yet.
