With that first breeze of what feels like fall air, my senses spiral off into a whirlwind of fall obsession in, like, .07 seconds. As I breathe in that deliciously crisp air, my favorite fall activities flash before my eyes and all I can think about is…
Scheduling trips to the apple orchard and the pumpkin patch
Planning a bonfire night with my friends complete with pumpkin beer drinking, apple cider sipping and s’more roasting
A winery day staring off into the gorgeous trees changing into their fall colors
hayrides & raking leaves
pumpkin pie baking
actually, all things pumpkin
and really all kinds of pie baking
I get equally (if not more) excited for my fall style & outfits and try to jump the gun every year on transitioning my wardrobe to fall. I’m ready to go full cable knits, jeans and combat boots and then Mother Nature is like, “Ha! Here’s a 90-degree day for that cute fall outfit you planned to wear today,” and I’m forced to dip back into my summer stuff.
Where there’s a will, though, there’s a way! Here’s a list of my absolute fall faves and how I sneak them into my late summer wardrobe!
Olive Greens, Taupes, Tans or Wine Colors
SWOON. I can’t stay away from these colors as it is but once that first fall feel hits, I always want to buy everything in these colors. The perfect fall color palette!
How to wear it: I’m pairing these glorious fall colors with summer bottoms: white shorts, or crops, a skirt, or pants and sandals.
Denim Denim Denim
How to wear it: Pull out our favorite jeans, roll them up and pair them with sandals and a tank.
How to wear it: Pair a cardigan/ slouchy sweater with a shorts outfit. Try a tank, shorts, and sandals with a sweater for a nice transitional look. This is outfit goes nicely with a large stein of beer INHO. 😉
How to wear it: Pair ankle boots with summer dresses. You’ll stay cool still but you’ll be able to rock the fall vibe with your booties.
Fall switch: My jewelry doesn’t change a ton when I move into fall style, but I do like to move my bright colored necklaces off my jewelry rack to keep it more organized. These are a few of the pieces I’m wearing a lot right now.
Fall switch: If you’re someone who changes your hair from summer to fall, go ahead and do the switch! I just recently did mine. I have a caramel balayage on my dark brown hair but this time, I went darker all over before adding more balayage!
Fall Nails / Lips
Fall switch: During the summer I love doing white nails or bright oranges and pinks! Come September, I make the switch over to deep plums and reds, navy, taupes, greens and even black.
For lips, I usually go with natural or a bright pink in summer, but fall is when I love to bring out the deeper shades so I’m pulling out my plum / berry colors to go along with my fall nails.
I know coffee isn’t technically part of your wardrobe, but coffee is definitely part of my daily style. It changes based on how I’m feeling and I wholeheartedly believe your coffee choices express who you are.
Fall switch: Switch your coffee back from cold brew to hot, pull out your cozy fall coffee mugs, and get ready (dare I say it) for pumpkin spice!
I go for iced coffee in the summers and hot coffee every other time. I’m not super obsessed with the PSL, but I do enjoy a little pumpkin in my life when September hits. My favorite way to incorporate the season into my morning coffee is pumpkin spice creamer.
Happy almost fall! 🍂

You taught me a lot of lessons growing up, like how to use a hammer, how to change my tire, and how to keep the boys away. But of all the lessons you taught me, my favorite is one that no instruction manual could have provided.
If someone called you now and said pack your bags we’re leaving on vacation tomorrow, could you be ready? Or would sheer panic set in because your mind immediately goes to OMG I have nothing to wear? Here’s how Hanger freed me from last-minute vacation-packing panic.
