Here at Hanger, we love our Interns soooo much and we want you to love them, too! Meet Madeline Childs, Hannah Riley, and Olivia Bleeker – three college gals who are spending their summer hanging with our style crew. We asked each of them to describe themselves and answer a few questions so you can get to know them better!

Madeline Childs

Testing Title

Madeline is an intern at Hanger this summer helping out with social media and marketing. She’s an Apparel Merchandising and Product Development major at the University of Arkansas where she’s involved in Greek life and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta. Madeline loves anything outdoors, sewing, music, and food. She loves trying new things and traveling to and exploring unique places. She’s very passionate about aesthetics and seeing the beauty in the simplicity of our complicated and busy lives. Madeline would love to one day live in a big city (New York or Los Angeles) and own her own boutique and have a few clothing lines!

Q: How do students dress for class on your campus?

A: There is a wide variety of style at my school. You have the people who roll out of bed in shorts and a t-shirt three times too large for their body, the hipsters with their flannels and beanies, and the occasional person that wears their nicest suit or dress they own on a daily basis. Most students tend to gravitate towards the looks requiring minimal effort, but the diversity found on college campuses is what makes the college environment so intriguing and nonjudgmental.

Q: Where do you find style inspiration?

A:  I am one of the thirteen people in the world that still buys fashion magazines to get my style inspiration. Of course I also am a former Pinterest addict and I follow a lot of fashion bloggers to keep myself up-to-date with the newest trends.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Hanger?

A: Hanger allows me to be confident not only in my fashion choices, but in everyday activities. With Hanger, I save an incredible amount of time and stress in picking out outfits for my day or week. Instead of creating a post-tornado vibe in my room, it stays nice and neat because I can experiment with different outfits right on the app. The possibilities of outfit combinations found in my tiny closet never ceases to amaze me and also helps me get over my shopping addiction to save money and time.

Q: If you could have anyone’s closet in your circle of Hanger friends, who would it be and why?

A:  Ashley Dolan’s closet. She owns a lot of cool pieces that I wish I had, so I might be bugging her to borrow things a lot.

Q: What is the proudest moment of your life so far?

A: The proudest moment of my life so far is when I ate an entire extra large Imo’s pizza in twenty minutes. Autographs are available for $3.

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

A:  I’m pretty basic, but one fun fact about me is that I love to go antiquing and thrift shopping to sew and transform into new pieces.

Hannah Riley

Hannah-Riley-LoyolaHannah is about to start her junior year at Loyola University of Chicago in the fall and is going to Rome in the Spring to study abroad. She’s double majoring in International Business and Marketing where she hopes to work in another country. She wants to follow her love of Italy and live there for a few years after college. At school, she’s in Alpha Chi Omega and on the executive board of Feminist Forum. Hannah loves hiking, crafting, and fashion. This summer she’s interning at Hanger in the marketing department. While working at Hanger, Hannah wants to absorb as much as she possibly can. She also wants to become more confident in what she wears and in herself and sees the potential to learn this through her experience using the Hanger app.

Q: How do students dress for class on your campus?

A: While everyone has their own personal style, there are two main styles that people wear on campus. Most students are  either in the latest trend that walked down the runway or they are dressed as hipsters in converse and beanies.

Q: Where do you find style inspiration?

A: I find most of my style inspiration through Pinterest. It’s a great way to find new ways to dress within your style and even go out of your comfort zone to try something new!

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Hanger?

A: I love how it saves me so much time and shows you how much you’re saving. Even when I was putting the clothes into Hanger, I saw how many clothes I have that I don’t really wear. With Hanger, I can help ease my shopping addiction by shopping my own closet.

Q: If you could have anyone’s closet in your circle of Hanger friends, who would it be and why?

A: I’m most envious of our marketing director, Ashley Riley’s Hanger closet because she has multiple styles in her wardrobe that you can choose from. You can go from going to a Foo Fighters concert to a preppy New Year’s party. Full disclosure – she’s my step mom, so I can kinda steal what I want even without Hanger.

Q: What is the proudest moment of your life so far?

A: The proudest moment of my life so far was getting accepted to study abroad in Rome! I’m so excited to travel Europe.

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

A: I’m the oldest of 18 grandchildren!

Olivia Bleeker

Olivia-bleeker-MizzouOlivia is a content marketing intern at Hanger and about to start her junior year at the University of Missouri – Columbia. She’s studying Textile and Apparel Management with minors in Business, Spanish, and Entrepreneurship. Olivia loves to travel the world and see how fashion looks around the globe, as well as promoting sustainability in fashion. When she’s not working on something fashion-related, you can find her at a Cardinals game, watching Gilmore Girls reruns, or learning how to become a better cook!

Q: How do students dress for class on your campus?

A: On my campus at the University of Missouri, students dress very casually. You can usually find people wearing leggings and long t-shirts that represent their sorority or their campus organization.

Q: Where do you find style inspiration?

A:. I find my style inspiration through people I follow on Instagram, Pinterest, and other fashion bloggers. I have my own life + style blog, A Drop in the Ocean, so it’s always nice to see what other bloggers like me are wearing!

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Hanger?

A: My favorite thing about Hanger is the fact that I can connect with my friends to swap clothes. Being a college student equals having a really low clothing budget but also a huge friend group, so I couldn’t ask for anything better to help me find clothes for all kinds of occasions.

Q: If you could have anyone’s closet in your circle of Hanger friends, who would it be and why?

A: I love Lauren Conrad, and I wish so much that her closet could just jump into my Hanger circle ASAP. That would be a game changer.

Q: What is the proudest moment of your life so far?

A: The proudest moment of my life so far was when I walked 75 miles through Northern Spain in 4 days! It was a crazy experience that just about killed me, but finishing it made me so proud!

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

A: A fun fact about me is that I am obsessed with traveling and living in other cultures…so much so that I lived in an indigenous village in Guatemala and a coastal Mediterranean beach town in Spain both before I turned 20!
