So you’ve committed to be fit in the new year. You’ve dusted off your gym shoes (I know mine were dusty AF), purchased a membership to the gym, filled your S’Well bottle with lemon water, and are in it to win it! Investing time and money into your resolution doesn’t mean your attire has to suffer. With so many athleisure companies taking the fashion world by storm, it’s becoming more socially acceptable to wear yoga pants all day and the possibilities to look chic from the studio to the street are booming. Here are some of the best athleisure companies for 2017. Ready, sweat, go!
You know the Gap for their timeless pieces, but you may not think of them for their great activewear. From yoga to barre to running, Gap Fit offers a wide variety of fresh styles and patterns to mix and match for your workout. I can also attest to their yoga pants fitting well. I have two pairs that I love because of their 4-way stretch and “Blackout Technology” aka you’re free to do Downward Dog without worrying if everyone is staring at your see-through bottoms.

Alo Yoga is a yoga activewear brand from sunny LA and tests their products on real yogis for the cool, most flattering, fit that moves with you. The brand’s fan girls include Kendall Jenner, Olivia Palermo and Gigi Hadid. Not only are they on-trend, they even pass the leggings-as-pants test. Now it’s easy to feel like a celebrity in their pieces, even if you are just making your Starbucks run.

You don’t have to go across the pond to get London’s most coveted fitness brand. Sweaty Betty is the perfect blend of functionally, fashion and of course fitness. I love the company’s core beliefs, particularly “No one’s perfect—And we still believe in healthy living, having fun and Cornish clotted cream”. With collections such as the Boho Collection (inspired by the lavish traveler), and the Textiles Collection (boasting smoky prints, leather-like pieces, and intricate patterns), you’ll be sure to turn heads on the treadmill or at the grocery store.
