Alright ladies, let’s keep it PG this summer…there is no reason to bring out your birthday suit. The last thing you want is to be freaking out about your monstrous pit stains and being able to focus on nothing else. While we know that these crazy, heat-stroke inducing temperatures might bring wearing your birthday suit to mind, we’ve come up with some style tips that can help you reflect your personal style all while staying cool!
Save the clingy dresses for fall and winter and bring out the shirt dresses! They’re cute, comfy, and perfect for long, hot days where you want to stay classy without compromising comfort. Plus, we like them because they are the perfect basic for accessorizing with!
Put those granny panties on hold this summer! Stick to undies that are made of cotton, spandex or lace in styles like thongs or bikinis to stay cool, calm, and collected under your flawless outfit.
Work that ‘Do
Oh girl, work that updo! Throw in some braids or a headscarf to spice things up. Put half of your mane up in a messy bun or ponytail for a super cute half up-half down style that will kick your summer hair game up a notch. Style your hair any of these ways and your friends will be calling you Becky with the good hair!
Keep a Scarf Handy
Not only does it work as a perfect hair accessory as mentioned above, it also doubles as a little bit of protection from the sun if you’re out and about outside. Protection from the sun is always important!
Hydration is Key
Hydrate in style with water bottles that reflect your own personal style – add glitter, bumper stickers, or keep it basic. There are tons of fun bottles out there that keep your water cold longer ~ it’s worth the investment!
Skip the Fur Vest
Stick to cotton, polyester, linen, mesh, rayon, and chiffon and shy away from wool, velvet, furs, and knits. Also, lean away from the items in your closet that are double-lined. These kinds of materials will only make you drown in sweat all the more.
Minimal Is Chic
Try to wear as little heavy jewelry as possible — big necklaces and bracelets only add more sweat. Instead, try funky earrings that won’t make you as hot and layer dainty necklaces and bracelets to add a little bling. Finally, you can rock your own sunny style because sunglasses always tie an outfit together!
Lots of love,
